California's Napa Valley got its first serious recognition on the world stage when international wine authority Steven Spurrier, a British wine merchant and champion of French wines, organized the now infamous 1976 Paris Tasting. Planned as a publicity stunt to bring further recognition to French wines, the judges were all French wine experts, and the tasting was done blind. To the world's (and the judges') utter dismay, Napa Valley wines were voted the best red and white, over many of France's finest Bordeaux and Burgundies.
Blended with trace amounts of Merlot and Petite Verdot, the Revolver's 2007 Cabernet Franc is a serious, fully loaded interpretation of the varietal. Look for large-caliber character right from the first sniff as ripe black cherry, violet, graphite and sweet herb aromas lead to flavors of blackberry, baked plum, carbon and rosemary. Ripe tannins and toasty oak beg for a well-marbled steak, preferably hot off a charcoal grill.

Serve at cool room temperature (64°F). Decant one hour before serving.
Bryan Page has always been a busy guy. He has had many incarnations in the wine and food trade (waiter, chef, sommelier, winery cellar worker, etc.), but, after an excursion to Bordeaux, his destiny was set. "Working three jobs was the norm for me," Page said. "Saving every penny was the standard, and making my own wine under my own label was the goal." In 1997, he produced 36 cases of proprietary red. Page Wine Cellars was founded, and his dream became reality.
The Wine
Bryan Page was born in 1966, the same year the Beatles released their epic "Revolver" album. Bryan's Revolver wines are designed to offer a departure from his Page label and provides a means by which to spread his creative wings. His Revolver wines, like the album, are "a bit rebellious and edgy." As such, the bottles are adorned in all black as a tribute to another favorite musician, Johnny Cash. Total production of The Fury: 314 cases.
