Origin
The Pfalz (pronounced "falts") wine region is located on the plains west of the Rhine River. The soils are rich and the climate is warm--ideal conditions for producing fleshier, less austere Rieslings with rich citrus and apple flavors and bright acidity. The loam, limestone and sandstone soils of the Pfalz have produced wine since the days of the Roman Empire. Today, welcoming farms, hofbraus, castles and churches dot the countryside.
Pairings
Riesling's crisp citrus and apple flavors, low alcohol and lack of oak flavors make it an incredibly versatile white wine that's a comfortable match with a wide variety of foods, from raw seafood to Asian coconut curries. If anything, Riesling's acidity sets it apart when matching wine with oily sausages or even Chinese dim sum.

Serve well chilled (47°F).
Winemaker
Weinhof Scheu ("VINE-hoff SHOY") was founded by winemaker Günter Scheu, who today acts in a purely advisory role to the next generation and spends his time in the vineyards. His son Klaus manages the family business and is responsible for all winemaking, cellar affairs and sales and marketing. The Scheu family believes that the more accurately a wine reflects its origins, the better that wine is.
The Wine
This bright, flavorful Riesling has pretty verbena, raw almond, bay leaf, white pepper, green apple and apricot aromas, and flavors of lime zest, apricot, red apple skin and tangerine. It has both a mouthwatering citric acidity and a creamy, rounded mouthfeel.
